Growing Pains: The Nature of Body Hair

In 2022 I collaborated with a dear friend and painter, Luis Felipe Chavez, to create an immersive experience centering on the theme of body hair. The paintings explored the relationship to the Earth, our bodies and the role hair plays in the course of life. The exhibit was an opportunity to  unravel the societal narrative of hair as dirty, ugly or beautiful depending on whose body it is on and celebrate the spaces and places hair grows and falls.
