My Approach

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and trained Art Therapist centering the imagination as a leading character in the story of our healing. As a queer therapist I aim to create spaces that unravel the rigidity of binaries and cultivate self-compassion, curiosity and ease through art.

Talking is one piece of our experience, yet healing can come from more than words. There are further therapeutic avenues for your body and mind to integrate so why limit ourselves to talking when we can create, move, sense, build and envision? I want to help you tap into your capacity to dream and give a little more room for the parts of you that feel hardest to hold while remembering how much of a gift you are to this world.

Your Whole Self is Welcome Here

Our Sessions Will Be:

  • Trauma-Informed

My holistic approach is rooted in a systems-informed relational lens and combines art therapy, somatics and cultural humility. I honor the collection of experiences each of us holds and the stories we carry with us, often passed down from generations and shaped by the systems in which we live.

  • Integrative

In order to create safety, I emphasize integration of what you think, feel and sense while moving at a pace that is supportive of both your mind and body. I aim to balance thinking with sensing through the body and creating with the imagination thereby allowing us to bring the many parts of you into sessions.

  • Expansive

I focus on providing space for the full breadth of your emotional experience, especially by stepping back from the construct of “good or bad” and “right or wrong” emotions. There is no bad emotion or wrong feeling; it’s what we do with those emotions and the impact of our behaviors that matters most.

  • Relational

I create room for us to connect with the emotions, build understanding around them and find ways of communicating with your feelings and experiences to alleviate a sense of pressure, shame or judgment. My aim is to be in a relationship with you that ultimately supports your relationship with yourself, your community, and your environment.

We can make room to find

freedom in dreaming,

nourishment in gratitude

& healing in creativity
